An overview of our process & what to expect
The Discovery Call is a no obligation, 15 to 20 minute introductory phone call for us to learn more about your project so that we can identify which one of our services is the best fit for you.

If you prefer to take on the next steps on your own
We will give you our notes, recommendations, sketches, measurements, etc taken at the consultaiton for you to execute the design.
If you prefer to engage us to help you execute the ideas identified in the consultation
We will create a Design Fee Proposal to discuss moving the project to a full-service design package.
See step 3 below.
After the consultation we will estimate our time to design a space for you based on the scope of work discussed at your home during the consultation.
You will receive a proposal outlining the scope of work, our estimated hours and estimated timeline.
Once the proposal is approved and deposit to begin is paid, we get busy designing!
If necessary, we will schedule a meeting called “Trades Day” to have our subcontractors come out to get a clear scope of work in order to bid the job for you.
This is where the magic happens! We get busy creating the design of your dreams which could take up to 10 weeks.
Fabrics are sourced, lighting is selected, floor plans are drafted, renderings created and many, many quotes are gathered.
The initial concepts we discussed with you at the consultation are starting to take shape and develop into a full design plan.
A very exciting day! We meet in person and present the full design to you.
This includes all floor plans, elevations, renderings, color scheme, digital presentation boards, fabric and wallpaper samples, other finish material samples, furniture selections and budget breakdown.
We will collect an 80% deposit on goods once you have approved them and everyone is super excited about the one of a kind design made specifically for you.
This is where we make your life easy and take the stress of ordering away from you. We purchase all items and we work towards an install date.
This is usually a 8-12 week timeframe, longer if a renovation is involved after Design Board Approval.
We track all orders, store them in our warehouse and prepare everything for install.
This is the day you have been waited for! Remember all those beautiful things you approved?
Today is when the NSI team swarms in and makes the vision come to life. We ask that you not be home during installation day if possible, to not ruin the surprise!
Your only job is to walk into you home and jump for joy when you see the completed spaces and all of the glorious detaiIs.
Resolving Deficiencies, punch list items addressed and “on approval” merchandise is decided on.
We coordinate with any vendors involved to cure any deficiencies within 14 business days.
We will schedule a day to photograph your home, paid by Nikole Starr Interiors.
We will proudly showcase your beautiful home on our website and social media.
